Myrna Garnier

Myrna Garnier – Paralegal

After graduating from Christ the King Secretarial School as a Bilingual Executive Secretary in 1999, she began her career at the Central Bank of Haiti as an Executive Secretary and Public Relation Agent, and a few years later as an International Teller and Retail Administration Clerk at Scotiabank in Haiti.

Furthermore, Myrna was an active employee at the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti where she participated to workshops and activities in relation to the Situation of Women and Children in Conflict Environment as well as situations involving Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

As she immigrated to Canada from Haiti nine years ago, her passion for immigration continued to grow. After obtaining her Diploma in Psychology and Social Work and her Attestation of Collegial Studies in Immigration Consulting in Montreal (Quebec), Myrna joined Heenan Blaikie LLP Montreal office in 2010 as an International Business Law legal assistant and Immigration Paralegal. In May 2014, Myrna began a new career in the province of Alberta at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP Calgary Office as a Legal Assistant / Immigration Paralegal. Not only her overall career strongly contributes to the fulfillment of her goal, it also enhances her dedication to success along with her values for client’s satisfaction. Myrna masters the English language, French, Spanish and Haitian Creole.

In her spare time, Myrna devotes herself to painting, drawing, interior decorating and music. Before immigrating to Canada in 2006, Myrna was volunteering in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at the “Jeunesse Marial” Group where she helped young children living in less fortunate conditions to learn how to read and write.
